Tips for Attending a Bridal Show

According to the good folks at SoCal Bridal Show& Expo, brides attending a bridal show in Southern California (or anywhere else in the U.S., for that matter), should make the most of the experience by preparing before they go. Here then are a few tips to ensure you get real value when you attend a bridal show.

List Your Most Important Priorities

There is so much to see and do at a bridal showthat it is easy to get overwhelmed and distracted by things that you are never going to have at your wedding. The best thing to do to avoid this from happening is to make a list of what you want to see before you go. You will likely be surprised at how quickly the day goes; unless you know exactly which vendors you want to see, you might find that time is up before you get to half of them. If you want information from a lot of vendors, ask a trusted friend or family member to go with you and split up on the day.

Bring a Notebook

You are going to get a ton of information on the day. You will receive a goody bag filled with treats and lots of business cards and flyers, but you will also be talking to a lot of people as well. Take notes when speaking to vendors and mark your favorites as you go.

Set a Budget

It is good to know how much you are prepared to spend on all elements of the day. If you already know how much you are going to spend on the dress, flowers, the cake, entertainment, invitations, etc., you will find it easier because you will only be looking at the things you know you can afford.

Bring Your Credit or Debit Card

You will get some great deals on the day, with many vendors offering fantastic discounts for on-the-spot bookings. If you see something you really like at a great price, having the means to book there and then will help you make great savings. Also bear in mind that wedding dates do tend to fill up quite quickly with vendors after they attend a bridal show. To get the date you want, it is best to book at the time. Before you hand over your money though, make sure you are fully aware of the vendor’s policies regarding refunds.

Bring Printed Labels

You may not be aware, but you are likely to have to write your name, address email, phone number, and wedding date multiple times during a bridal show. To save you time and effort, print these details on labels before you go.

Enter the Competitions for Giveaways

A big part of the excitement of bridal shows is the chance to enter lots of competitions on the day. Many vendors will be running their own mini competitions offering a prize, but some bridal shows even have one big competition where a lucky couple can win an entire wedding package. It pays to enter as many competitions as you can – after all, you have to be in it to win it! And this is where those printed labels will come in handy.

Wear Comfortable Clothing

You may want to get dressed up for the day, but it is best to wear comfortable clothing and shoes. Bridal shows can be long and tiring and you will do a lot of walking on the day. It is also a good idea to bring a backpack or even a small trolley bag to store all the literature and freebies you get on the day.
